I began my cake journey as the family 'cake maker’ in my 20’s. I officially registered my home based business in Keysborough with the local council in 2016. I was a kindergarten teacher in my former life for over 20 years. My interest and hobby of making cakes blossomed so much that I found that I enjoyed it more than my regular teaching job. So I took the plunge, renovated my house to include my dream kitchen (which has 56 drawers!) and have turned my passion into a successful career. I have created literally thousands of cakes over the years, as well as biscuits and cupcakes. I love the creativity of my job, and especially the smiles it brings to both clients and their guests
I continually update my skills by going to classes and workshops, and also spend way too much time on the internet researching. I have competed in a number of competitions, both locally and at a state level, winning many prizes including Champion at Dandenong Show a number of times and first place at The Royal Melbourne Show. I am also a member of Cake Decorator’s Association of Victoria and Australian Cake Decorating Network. My family are behind me 100%, with my two adult sons giving me their honest opinions and my husband’s skill in helping me with working out structural planning of my cakes. My neighbours love getting the cake ‘scraps’ (offcuts) and have to fight my family for them. ![]() |
